Is KTAC's Executive Programme MQA-Accredited?

This is the question we get asked most — and it's an important one. Short answer: KTAC's Executive Programme (10 months) is not an MQA-accredited academic programme. It's an HRD Corp Claimable programme, a different form of recognition, for a different purpose.

Below, we explain exactly what this means for you, so you can make the right decision before enrolling.

MQA (Malaysian Qualifications Agency) is the body that certifies formal academic qualifications — diplomas, bachelor's and master's degrees recognised by the government and employers for academic purposes, certain government positions, and formal progression to higher levels of study.

HRD Corp (formerly PSMB/HRDF) manages the employer training levy. HRD Corp Claimable status means registered employers can claim back training fees paid for their employees from their HRD Corp levy. It's a form of recognition for training and career development purposes — not a formal academic qualification.

Both are legitimate and useful — just for different purposes.

KTAC's Executive Programme (Diploma, Bachelor and Master, 10 months) is an HRD Corp Claimable programme. It's designed for working adults who want to:

• Upgrade skills and knowledge in a specific field
• Strengthen their career profile without leaving their job
• Use their employer's HRD Corp levy to pay tuition fees

This programme is not an MQA/KPT academic programme. If your goal is a formal academic qualification (for example, for certain government positions, or SPP/KPT requirements), this programme may not meet that specific need.

If you specifically need a diploma or degree that is formally MQA-accredited (a longer programme, approximately 2-3 years), this pathway is available through our partner institution, Kolej Teknologi Antarabangsa Cybernetics.

This programme suits you if:

• You're a working adult who wants to upgrade skills in a short timeframe (10 months)
• Your employer is registered with HRD Corp and can claim tuition fees through the levy
• Your goal is practical career development, not a formal academic qualification for a specific regulated purpose

Specific example: if you need registration as a Safety and Health Officer (SHO) under DOSH, check the official DOSH requirements first — some requirements may specifically require an MQA-accredited qualification. Contact our advisor if you're unsure which pathway is right for you.

What can this certificate be used for? An HRD Corp Claimable certificate is suitable for career development purposes, a professional portfolio, and certain internal organisational requirements. For purposes requiring a formal academic qualification (such as specific government positions), check the official requirements for that role first.

Can I continue studying after this? KTAC's Executive Programme is not a formal academic pathway for progression through the MQA system. If formal academic progression is your goal, the MQA pathway through Kolej Teknologi Antarabangsa Cybernetics is the better fit.
